Visiting City Hall or another City facility on Friday, July 25th? Don't be alarmed by the masks. The City of Goodyear will be conducting a pandemic flu drill on Friday, July 25th. July 4th fireworks show has been rescheduled for 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25 at Goodyear Community Park, 3151 N. Litchfield Rd., Goodyear. The 25-minute fireworks show will be presented during Goodyear’s annual Howling Halloween Bash. Gates open for the event at 5 p.m. Admission is free. Press Release

Goodyear residents will see an increase in their July sanitation bills because the monthly rate is going up 3 percent.

The monthly sanitation rates are adjusted annually for inflation effective each July 1st. The annual rate adjustment method allows the enterprise fund to become self sustaining and cover the service contract increase, which addresses other economic factors, such as the rising cost of fuel, labor and materials.

Effective July 1st, the new rate will be $22.80 per month. The monthly cost for an additional container will also increase to $6.26 from the current rate of $6.09.

As of May 27, you no longer have to go to Litchfield Park or Avondale libraries for your children to participate in Maricopa County Library District’s Summer Reading Program because the program has come to Goodyear! As part of Goodyear’s initial library services (before our library building is built), you can come to City Hall, 190 N. Litchfield Rd. to pick up the reading log, game boards and prizes for the Summer Reading Program. The program runs until July 27. A library card is not required. Learn more

The contractor will be restricting the North and Southbound shoulder on Cotton Ln, starting at the R/R crossing and ending 200' North
of Elwood.

Description: The contractor will be boring in the shoulder for street improvements.

Location: Cotton Lane and Indian School Rd.

The contractor will be restricting the shoulder on Indian School, between Loop 303 and Cotton Lane. The contractor
will also be restricting the shoulder on Cotton Lane, 2600 ft. North of Indian School Rd.

Duration: 7/5/08-9/30/08
Traffic control will be setup for 24hrs

Description: Traffic control for onsite improvements.

Location: Cotton Lane at Indian School Rd.

The contractor will be redirecting North and Southbound travel lanes on Cotton Lane through Indian School Rd to the East of the road
on temporary asphalt.

Duration: 7/5/08-8/5/08
Restrictions will be setup for 24 hours.

Description: The contractor will be grading, paving and concrete work at the intersection.

Location: Cotton Ln and Yuma

Contractor will have two restrictions at the following location:

1. The contractor will be restricting the North and Southbound right travel lane on Cotton Lane, just North of Yuma Rd. Traffic
will be controlled by flagging stations located by the intersection. (Future Target Entrance)

2. The contractor will be restricting the Westbound travel lane, West of the intersection of Yuma Rd and Cotton Lane. Traffic will be
redirected into the opposite lane using two(2) flagging stations.

Duration: 7/25/08-7/28/08
Traffic Control will be set during 8:30AM to 3:30PM.

Description: The contractor will be installing traffic signal poles and arms at the intersection.

Location: Dysart Rd, North of McDowell Rd.

The contractor will be restricting the Southbound right travel lane on Dysart Rd, North of McDowell Rd.
The sidewalk will also be restricted during construction.

* City of Avondale R.O.W. permit required onsite.

Duration: 6/23/08-7/31/08
Traffic control will be in place from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

Description: Work is part of Well Site 34C Improvements.

Location: Estrella Pkwy and Westar Dr.

The contractor will be having multiple restrictions at the same location at separate times:

1. The contractor will be restricting the right curb lane traveling in both directions on Estrella Pkwy at Westar Dr.

2. The contractor will be restricting the left lane and left turn lane, traveling in both directions on Estrella Pkwy at Westar Dr.

3. The contractor will be redirecting Eastbound traffic into the left turn lane on Westar Dr at Estrella Pkwy. Westbound
traffic will be redirected towards the median.

4. The contractor will be redirecting Westbound traffic towards the median on Westar Dr at Estrella Pkwy.

5. The contractor will be redirecting West and Eastbound traffic towards the curb at the intersection of Westar Dr & Estrella Pkwy.

6. The contractor will be redirecting Eastbound traffic into the left turn lane on Westar Dr at Estrella Pkwy.

** Sidewalk will be restricted during construction on all four (4) legs of the intersection.

Traffic control will be set from 8:30AM to 3:30PM.

Description: The contractor will be installing traffic signals at the intersection.

Location: Estrella Pkwy at Woods (between Lower Buckeye Rd and Elwood Rd)

Contractor will have two (2) restrictions at the same location:

1. The contractor will be restricting the left traffic lane traveling in both directions on Estrella Pkwy at Woods, between Lower Buckeye Rd
and Elwood Rd.

2. The contractor will set a 400' shoulder closure on Estrella Pkwy at Woods, between Lower Buckeye Rd and Elwood Rd.

Duration: 7/24/08-7/31/08
Traffic control will be in place for 24 hours.

Description: The contractor will be creating a turn lane in the median to enter and exit the facility.

Location: Palm Valley, between 144th Ave and 142nd Ave.

Palm Valley Blvd will be closed between 144th Ave and 142nd Ave. 143rd Ave will also be closed at Palm Valley Blvd.
Traffic will be detoured around the event.

Duration: 7/26/08
Traffic control will be setup from 6:00AM to 11:00AM.

Location: Van Buren at 167th Ave.

The contractor will be having multiple restrictions at the same location at separate times:

1. The contractor will be restricting the right lane and right turn lane, traveling in both directions on Van Buren at 167th Ave.

2. The contractor will be restricting the left lane and left turn lane, traveling in both directions on Van Buren at 167th Ave.

3. The contractor will be restricting the SB travel lane on 167th Ave, through Van Buren. Traffic will be redirected into the median.
NB left turn lane onto Van Buren will be restricted during this process.

4. The contractor will be restricting the NB travel lane on 167th Ave, through Van Buren. Traffic will be redirected into the median.
SB left turn lane onto Van Buren will be restricted during this process.

5. The contractor will be restricting both turn lanes onto Van Buren off 167th Ave.

6. The contractor will be restricting the sidewalk on the SW corner of Van Buren and 167th Ave.

Duration: 5/19/08-7/30/08
Traffic control will be set from 8:30AM to 3:30PM.

Description: The contractor will be pot holing, utilities and boring under the road.

Location: Van Buren and Bullard

The contractor will be having multiple restrictions at the following location:

1. The contractor will be restricting the shoulder traveling Northbound on Bullard at Van Buren for 1800'.

2. The contractor will be restricting the shoulder traveling Westbound on Van Buren at Bullard for 1800'.

3. The contractor will be restricting the Northbound travel lane on Bullard, between Van Buren and Roosevelt. Northbound traffic
will be redirected into the median. Southbound traffic will be redirected towards the curb. The left turn lane onto Van Buren will
also be restricted during construction.

Duration: 7/8/08-7/31/08
Traffic control will be set for 24 hours.

Description: The contractor will prepping the shoulder for all roadway improvements.

Location: Van Buren, west of Sarival

The contractor will be restricting the westbound right travel lane and bike lane on Van Buren, west of Sarival Ave.

Duration: 7/18/08 to 7/25/08
Traffic control will be set from 8:30AM to 3:30PM.

Description: The contractor will be installing 3 street lights on the North side of Van Buren.

Location: Multiple Locations around Yuma Rd and 167th Ave.

The contractor will be restricting the sidewalk at multiple locations around Yuma Rd and 167th Ave.

Contractor will have multiple restrictions at the following location:

1. The contractor will be restricting the Northbound travel lanes on Cotton Lane, between Yuma Rd and Van Buren. All traffic will be redirected on the East side of the road, in one lane of each direction.

2. The contractor will be restricting the Eastbound travel lane on Yuma Rd.,between Cotton Lane and Canyon Trails. All traffic will be redirected on the North side of the road in one lane of each direction.

3. The contractor will be restricting the Eastbound travel lane on Canyon Trails., East of Cotton Lane. All traffic will be redirected on the North side of the road in one lane of each direction.

4. The contractor will be restricting the Eastbound travel lane on Canyon Trails., East of Cotton Lane. All traffic will be redirected on the North side of the road in one lane of each direction.

5. The contractor will be restricting Northbound traffic just South of Yuma Rd on Cotton Lane. Traffic will be redirected into the Southbound lanes. One lane of traffic traveling in both directions will be maintained at all times. Northbound traffic will be redirected onto the East side of road, at the intersection.
