The Fire Safety/Building Code Enforcement Appeals Board hears appeals on technical interpretation issues on fire & building safety codes. Board members must have experience and training to pass upon matters pertaining to building construction, building service equipment, fire protection systems, and property maintenance and who are not employees of the City of Goodyear. Members are not required to be a resident of Goodyear.

Member Qualifications

One member shall have the following:

• Registered design professional who is a registered architect; or a builder or superintendent of building construction with at least 10 years’ experience, five of which shall have been in responsible charge of work.

One member shall have the following:

• 10-years Experience in one of the following: Structural engineer, mechanical engineer, fire protection engineer, electrical engineer

The board meets quarterly and as needed to hear appeals.
