GSQ - Downtown Goodyear

Welcome to the Heart of Goodyear

Since 1984, city of Goodyear leaders and residents have envisioned a place to gather for events such as festivals, concerts and parades. A place that would create a true heart of the city. That vision became a reality when Goodyear Civic Square at GSQ opened at McDowell Road and 150th Drive in August 2022.

The first phase, which has been completed, includes a new city hall, state-of-the-art library, two-acre park, two parking garages and upscale office space called GEN1. The walkable urban center is quickly taking shape with upscale mixed-use development that includes a gathering place with first-of-its-kind entertainment concepts, a mix of both high-end and fast-casual restaurants with sprawling patios, along with an eclectic mix of big-box retail and specialty shops. In addition, the area will include multi-family residential, additional office space and a hotel.

Globe Corp., a family-owned business, owns the 150-acres of land that is GSQ and is developing the area which stretches from I-10 north to Encanto Boulevard and 150th Drive to Bullard Avenue.  They’ve owned the land since the 1970s when it was a scallion farm. Due to the city’s tremendous growth in recent years, the timing was right to develop the land into the city’s first-ever downtown.

The look and feel of GSQ will be just as important as what residents can do there. Visitors can expect to see high standards for architecture, public art and landscaping making this a prime and attractive destination in the city.
