City Parks, Pool

 

Recreation facilities in Goodyear consist of two Community Parks, a Pool, eleven Neighborhood Parks, specialty parks for dogs and owners, and for skateboarders. Many residential neighborhoods have play lots and designated walking paths.

Goodyear Community Park

The Goodyear Ballpark is Spring Training home to the Cleveland Indians and he Cincinnati Reds. This facility opened in February 2009 and provides extensive recreational opportunities for residents as well as the Cactus League Spring Training facilities. Preliminary work is also underway for planned retail development areas surrounding the ballpark.

County Parks / Hiking

 

Goodyear boasts access to two of Maricopa County’s Regional Parks, which are among the largest County Parks in the country. Estrella Mountain Park is located right in Goodyear, and the White Tank Park is just northwest of the City. Nearly 60 miles of trails are available for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders.

These two parks contain over 75 square miles of desert and mountain landscape supporting activities as simple as picnicking or as strenuous as hiking, cycling and horseback riding. The Parks offer numerous programs focused on Southwestern outdoor living on topics such as stargazing, native culture & archeology and local plants & animals, as well as regular guided hikes.

Cycling

 

Maricopa County Regional Park Biking – including nearby White Tank and Estrella Mountain - offer miles of shared-use trails for cycling, as well as designated competitive track areas.

A privately operated BMX bike track is located in Goodyear, and many city streets have marked bike lanes in addition to motorized traffic lanes.

Horseback Riding

 

Both the White Tank and the Estrella Mountain Regional Parks (Maricopa County) host numerous shared-use trails for riding. Estrella Park even has a rodeo arena!

A private Riding Stable operates just outside the White Tank Park from November through April offering trail rides both inside the Park and outside.

Roller Skating

 

Newly opened in Goodyear, the Skate Zone Roller Rink offers a recreational skating environment as a safe and fun amusement opportunity for the local community.

Skates are available for rent at the facility.
