ENJOY THE RIDE: Harley-Davidson open for business in Goodyear
The long-awaited grand opening of RoadRunner Harley Davidson has finally arrived.
As Goodyear's population -- including the number of motorcycle enthusiasts -- continues to grow, it was inevitable that Harley-Davidson would soon come to town.
On Friday, the long-awaited grand opening of RoadRunner Harley-Davidson at 1402 N 159th Ave. finally arrived. Within minutes of its 9 a.m. opening, the new facility was inundated with customers.
"We decided to come out here because we had an overabundance of service customers in the area that we were trailering out to to pick them up and drop their bikes off, and realized there was a huge demand for a service point in this area," said Eric Bushamie, general manager of the Goodyear store. "We started to look at our customer service base a little more by zip (code) and saw the demand out here, and basically decided to open a store, and Harley blessed it."
But don't think that you have to be an experienced motorcyclist in order to ride a Harley. Through Harley's Riding Academy program, Bushamie said it's never too late to learn.
"We have a range out back where we give people the ability to learn how to ride on the product," he said. "Harley’s bikes are low center of gravity. They handle really well. They’re a good bike for any level-of-experience rider. But we do have the class to help you get comfortable and get your license."
And for those who already ride, Goodyear's Harley-Davidson shop has everything you need.
"Great selection of clothing, great selection of parts. We’re a fully operational service center. We’re a family-oriented dealership," Bushamie said.
"It’s good to be here. We’ve been well received so far, and I think everyone’s happy to see us out here."
