City of Goodyear Special Election Results

The unofficial results from the March 12 special election in the city of Goodyear are in. The election included three candidates for Goodyear City Council and three open seats. As the results stand now, the three council seats are filled and a general election is not needed. Goodyear voters also chose to move elections from spring of odd numbered years to the fall of even numbered years.

Moves elections to the fall of even numbered years.

Proposition 422
Allows the city to use only votes cast for a specific office (i.e.: councilmember) to determine the majority.

No       1,874 (20.12%)
 
Proposition 423
Moves the inauguration/induction of new councilmembers to the month after the general election.
Yes      7,819 (83.72%)
No       1,521 (16.28%)

There were 46,328 ballots sent out and more than 10,000 ballots turned in with additional ballots still needing to be signature verified and tabulated.
