Join the Goodyear Arts & Culture Commission to learn from Art Leaders across the Valley. Lectures will take place through October of 2024 on the last Tuesday of the month from 7-8:30 p.m. at Goodyear City Hall, 1900 North Civic Square.

Mike Olbinski – Storm Photographer
The Art of Storm Chasing
Mike Olbinski is an Emmy award-winning cinematographer, filmmaker and photographer specializing in the art of capturing severe weather. From tornadoes and supercells across the central United States, to the powerful monsoon seasons in the desert southwest, Mike has been chasing storms for nearly 14 years now. This lecture will be a look at the beauty and majesty of storms as captured through photography and time-lapse. Mike will talk about his journey, how he started, where it's taken him and show some of his recent work in pictures and video.
P.W. Litchfield Heritage Lecture Series
Learn from diverse cultural speakers provided by the P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center. Lectures are held from 10-11 a.m. in the Goodyear Council Chambers, 1900 North Civic Square.

Crossroads of Change: Exploring a Pivotal Decade in the West Valley Through Photography
Photojournalist Jim Painter will present his black-and-white photography from 1985-1995, a pivotal era in the Southwest Valley’s history, which marks the evolution from agricultural roots to a burgeoning hub of development and urbanization. Jim Painter worked for West Valley newspapers from 1977 to 2012. His work is also on exhibit at the P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center beginning October 20, 2024 through October 2025
