Special Election - General Plan 2035

The City of Goodyear held a Special Election on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 for the purpose of submitting the City's General Plan 2035 to the qualified electors of the city for ratification.

This was an all-mail ballot election. Every registered and qualified Goodyear voter automatically received a ballot in the mail from the Maricopa County Elections Department. Informational pamphlets were mailed to all Goodyear households with a registered voter.

The official Canvass of the Special Election held May 21, 2024, is as follows:

Ballot Question

SHALL GENERAL PLAN 2035: GROWING GOODYEAR, PLANNING OUR FUTURE, AS ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF GOODYEAR CITY COUNCIL ON THE 13th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 2023, BE APPROVED BY THE REGISTERED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF GOODYEAR?

 A “YES” vote shall have the effect of approving the General Plan 2035 as adopted by the City of Goodyear City Council and shall become effective as provided by law.  YES NO 
 A “NO” vote shall have the effect of keeping the current 2014-2024 General Plan in effect until a new General Plan is presented and approved by the City Council and ratified by the voters of the City of Goodyear.  10,234 3,257

Voter Information

Mail your completed ballot back or drop it off at a ballot drop box location. The last recommended day to mail your ballot back is Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Beginning April 24, 2024 you may request a replacement ballot or drop off your voted ballot at Goodyear City Hall, 1900 N Civic Square, Goodyear, AZ 85395, Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM and on Election Day 6AM to 7PM. Additional locations may be found here
