Planning and Zoning is responsible for the preparation, adoption, and implementation of the city’s General Plan and its amendments, specific area plans, zoning and development ordinances, and policies that impact, maintain and direct the physical growth and development of the community.

The division provides information on development services to the public; maintains population and socio-economic data; reviews and processes applications for rezoning, variances, subdivision plats, use permits, site plans, development agreements and building construction plans; and provides technical support to the Planning and Zoning Commission and Board of Adjustment.
