Addressing & CAD Standards

New construction projects will be assigned addresses as part of the civil engineering plan review, or land division (Ex: Final Plat, Minor Land Division, Map of Dedication) process.

Applicants will be provided a submittal checklist that includes the requirement of an AutoCAD, and Address Request Form upon approval of their Development Review Application (Ex: Site Plan, Site Plan Amendment. Preliminary Plat, etc.)

If you have already gone through the civil engineering plan review or land division process, or need an address or suite assignment for a building permit that does not require civil construction or land division, please email an AutoCAD and an Address Request Form to addressrequests@goodyearaz.gov.

Below are the digital layer standards and AutoCAD templates for your use:

Requirements:

AutoCAD files that are needed for addressing facilities:

Coordinates meet Maricopa County Survey Control (GDACS)

AutoCad Formatting Guidelines

The following layers must be completed with the layer names as stated below to support the project. All other layers in the CAD file are required to be included in the CAD file but do not require a specific layer name:

Additional Requirements

All AutoCAD files must be uploaded as a single base file
- If you are having issues uploading the AutoCAD file to the electronic plan review system, you may provide a url link using the upload url tab.
All drawings must be placed in NAD 83, NAVD 88, State Plane Arizona Central coordinate system, US Foot. (AZ83-CF)
Use the city control and GDACS for reference
If you are using your own project template please provide a description of each layer and use the Layer Translator tool within AutoCAD to translate the layer names and properties
Provide a minimum three of the four section corner monuments for the project in your drawing
Remove or bind all Xrefs
Use Simplex fonts, standard Windows 2000 or AutoCAD fonts
Use model space for linework
Use text not mtext
All line work must be cleaned to a tolerance of 0.1 ft.
PSLTScale: Must be set to 0
Do not use hatching on required layers
Explode all blocks
Export final drawing to AutoCAD Version 13
