Requirements to become a Goodyear Fire Fighter:
- At least 18 years of age
- Have a High School Diploma of GED
- Have a valid Arizona Driver's License
- Have an Arizona State of National Registry Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic Certification
- Have passed the CPAT (Candidate Physical Ability Test) Certification (within the past 6 months)
The above certifications may be obtained at community colleges such as Glendale Community College or Phoenix College

Goodyear Fire Cadet Program
Our cadet program is a mentor program committed to partnering with volunteers to meet the needs of the department and community.
Requirements:
- 18 years or older
- Valid Driver's License
- EMT Certification
- 18 hours a month (10 ride-along, 8 department/community service)
- Attend monthly 4-hour drill consisting of hands on training with fire Department Mentors
Benefits:
- Experience real life fire fighter shift work
- Assist with patient care
- Get hands on training with firefighting skills, Haz-Mat, Ladder Operations and EMS
- Job Testing Skills (Interviews, application/resume review, firefighter philosophy, etc.)
