Adopt-A-Park

Can your business or organization spare one day a month to help keep one of our City Parks in beautiful condition?

Please review this brief overview - How to Organize a Cleanup - to see what it takes for your group to perform this valuable service.

We ask volunteer organizations to perform maintenance once per month - such as weeding, raking sand, picking up trash and reporting any broken park equipment to the City. Your group should commit for one year, and provide tools appropriate for the work being done.

Large parks may have two or more groups responsible for different weeks during the month. In recognition of your support, the City will post a sign prominently at your Park, and you will also have acknowledgment on the Park's web page.

Each volunteer must submit a Cleanup Volunteer Waiver prior to working. Parental permission is required for participants under the age of 18.

How to get started

Select the park that your group would like to adopt. See map and the list below for the city parks available for adoption.

Adopt-A-Street

Goodyear's "Adopt-A-Street" program gives local groups and organizations an opportunity to be involved in the community by controlling litter and weeds in an assigned segment of a City street.

Private corporations, non-profit or for-profit groups, clubs and organizations are all eligible to participate; or put together your own group of interested individuals.

Each Team will receive safety and procedure training by the City, as well as safety vests to be worn while on duty. At least four times a year, the Team will pick up litter, pull or cut weeds and remove any light debris such as home-made signs. Large or heavy objects, or hazardous materials, will simply be reported for later removal by City staff.

To acknowledge their efforts, the City will provide signs at each end of the Team's assigned street segment, identifying the group or organization which maintains the area.

There are a few restrictions:

  • All participants must be at least 18 years of age
  • Teams will not pick up litter in the roadway or in the medians
  • Each organization is asked to participate for a minimum of two years
  • Each volunteer must submit a Volunteer Waiver prior to working

How to get started

Please review the detailed Policies and Procedures, Safety Requirements, and forms listed at the right. Then have your contact person call the Training & Volunteer Specialist at 623-882-7567 or by email, to learn more and begin the process.
