The Goodyear Parks and Recreation Department offers programs for people of all ability levels. Under the ADA, Adaptive Services provides comprehensive adaptive programming. From adaptive sports leagues to specialized classes and events, we strive to create an inclusive environment where individuals with disabilities can thrive. Join us and discover a wide range of adaptive programming options that promote empowerment, lifelong learning, and overall well-being for all program attendees. Programs are open to residents and non-residents.

Special Olympics - Fall

Fall season membership - $20. The city of Goodyear is proud to offer the same, affordable rate to both residents and non-residents participants.

Swim | Goodyear Recreation Campus

*Ages 8+

Begins on August 6

Practice: Tuesdays & Thursdays, (ages 8-15 - 5:30 - 6:15 p.m.) & (ages 16+ - 6:15 - 7:00 p.m.)

Golf | Golf Club of Estrella

*Ages 12+

Begins on August 29

Mornings: 7:15-8:30 p.m.

Afternoons: 5:30-6:45 p.m.

Soccer | Goodyear Recreation Campus
*Ages 8+

Begins September 4

Youth (age 8-13): 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Volunteer Opportunities

Join the Goodyear Roadrunners Special Olympics program! Volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics program and we need your help to make our program a success. Whether you have an athlete on the team or not, you are welcome to apply to become a volunteer with our Special Olympics program.

Special Olympics sports are offered year-round and while previous coaching experience or sport specific knowledge is beneficial, you don’t need to be an expert in a sport to contribute to the team! Special Olympics is about transforming lives, including your own. It’s about the spirit of giving and teamwork. It’s about making your community and neighborhood a more welcoming and accepting place for people of all abilities. If that sounds like something that interests you, then Special Olympics is the place for you!

Looking for a safe space to celebrate Halloween this year? Intended for children and adults with disabilities and their families, the Adaptive Halloween Party will be full of spooky, festive fun!
