Goodyear Families
The city of Goodyear offers scholarships to families to help make our recreational programs and passes affordable for families in need. Scholarship funds are awarded based on financial need and time of submission and are not guaranteed. Scholarship funds can be used for one year from date of approval and are eligible for renewal after this timeframe. Please submit the Scholarship Application online, or stop by the Goodyear Recreation Campus to fill out a form. Participants must meet each of the following requirements and provide the appropriate documentation for all that apply:
- Proof of Residency
- Submit a current Goodyear Utility bill showing the applicants, or the legal guardian of applicants, name, and address. A current mortgage or rental statement is also acceptable.
- Proof of Citizenship
- Parent/Guardian will need to provide a government-issued photo ID.
- Please submit an Arizona Driver’s License, Passport, or Birth Certificate for anyone under the age of 18 years.
- Submit the U.S. Citizen Form filled out and signed.
- Salary/Wages
- Attach copies of the two most recent paycheck stubs from EACH employer for both the applicant and spouse and all others in the household who are working. If you are paid weekly attach copies of the four most recent pay stubs. Stub must show gross wages and may not be dated more than 30 days from application date. You must also provide a tax return from the previous year with the child for whom you are applying listed as a dependent. If you did not file taxes last year, you must obtain a "Verification of Non-filing Letter" from the IRS. Visit the IRS website at irs.gov for this information.
- Government/Food Stamps/Cash Assistance
- Attach copies of all that apply including current Social Security Award benefit letter, SSI Disability letter, retirement, unemployment or another government subsidy.
- Child Support/Alimony
- Attach copies of legal guardianship and/or foster care documents. Include proof of marriage or divorce decree, if no longer married, showing alimony and child support.

Eligibility, Terms and Conditions
- Assistance will be granted on the basis of financial need and available resources.
- Accepted applicants must pay some portion of the fees associated with the GRC Pass and/or program.
- Assistance is rewarded on an annual basis from date of approval and requires yearly renewal. Renewal application must be received two weeks prior to assistance expiration date.
- At the City’s discretion, if an account’s status is more than two weeks past due the GRC privileges will be suspended and can result in termination of Financial Assistance.
- Applicants must be city of Goodyear Residents. Any person over the age of 18 years, must provide proof of residency to be included on the GRC Pass and receive Financial Assistance.
- All applications are required to be submitted with complete documentation a minimum of two weeks prior to desired program start date to allow for processing.
- The City reserves the right to revoke, suspend, alter, deny or terminate assistance, facility usage or program participation at their discretion. The city may request a renewal application at their discretion. Anyone who does not utilize their approved assistance may lose it and may not be approved for funds in the future.
