Walking Club 

This walking program is designed to get the community inside/outside, reduce the pain or arthritis, and improve overall health. Walking will be taken place inside the walk track at the Goodyear Recreation Center and outside at the Goodyear Recreation Campus. Walking club will meet inside the Recreation Center lobby. Participants will have the opportunity to win a prize at the end of each session.

Are you a GRC Passholder? 

GRC group fitness classes are open to GRC passholders ages 16 and up and all abilities are welcome in every class.  Our senior specific fitness class, Silver, includes use of small hand-held weights, elastic tubing, light balls and chairs for seated exercises or as standing support.

Gather some friends or come meet new ones. This club is designed for the new or experienced knitter and sewer that want to get out of the house to socialize and learn new techniques from one another. Must bring own supplies.  Light snacks and water will be provided.

• Plant-based Power: A Journey to Health & Wellness - Tuesday, September 17 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. An introduction to the benefits of plant-based eating. Attendees will learn which foods to embrace and which ones to avoid, how to improve energy levels, overall well-being, improve lab values, and reduce the risk of chronic diseases.

• Be Prepared: Important Medicare Updates and Impacts - Tuesday, October 8 – 2025 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Due to the Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare will have the most important changes that will impact everyone on Medicare for the first time in the History of Medicare. It is imperative that everyone in Goodyear, needs to know how these will impact them so they are prepared! We'll also speak about prescriptions coverage changes as well as new Medicare Senior Scams.

City of Goodyear Senior Program Educational Seminar Proposal

The primary purpose of any presentation of service should be to provide a direct benefit to the senior population. This benefit can take the form of an educational seminar, medical screening, etc.

• The Senior Program publicizes activities through flyers, website, and the weekly e-blast.  If scheduled far enough in advance, your service of presentation may be included in our publications.
• At the time of your presentation or service, you may provide informational materials, business cards, etc. to those in attendance.
• Program proposals must be submitted in writing on forms link below.
• Once a proposal has been accepted, it will be kept on file. It will not be necessary for a business to submit a new proposal when scheduling a future date, provided that the topic and content remain the same.

The following are prohibited:

• The gathering of personal information on individuals in attendance, i.e., phone numbers and addresses.
• Arranging individual appointments. Interested persons should follow up with your business outside the program.
• Talking at length or exclusively about your particular business. Any presentation should be of general nature.
• Sales of any items are prohibited on City property.

OdySea Aquarium

Join us for a very enjoyable experience at OdySea Aquarium. The aquarium features more than 65 exhibits, 370 species, the world’s only Russian Sturgeon touch exhibit as well as 2 Stingray touch exhibits and a tide touch pool! OdySea is also home to Voyager, where guests take their seats in a stadium-seating style theatre with 46 ft. viewing windows for the “world’s only revolving aquarium experience. Price includes admission and transportation.
