  • Disposing of medications in trash or down the toilet or sink is an environmental hazard
  • Unused medications in the home present a risk: childhood overdose, abuse, addiction
  • Anonymous disposal

  What Do I Need to Know when Dropping off Medications?

  • Remove label or "black out" personal information on RX bottle
  • Leave pills in original container or dispose pills directly into the box
  • Leave liquid medications sealed in original container

   

  What is Allowed for Disposal?

  • All expired, unused, unwanted controlled, non controlled and over the counter medications
  • Liquid products, such as cough syrup should remain in sealed in original container
