Neighborhood Watch

How to Get Involved

image001The Neighborhood Watch program helps you to get to know your neighbors and helps to keep your neighborhood safe. The Goodyear Police Department would like to see you, the resident, get involved in helping keep your neighborhood safe. One key way to accomplish this is to have a Neighborhood Watch program in your immediate community. Neighborhood Watch is a program where your neighborhood takes an active role in crime prevention and community development.

The responsibilities of a Neighborhood Watch Captain or co-Captain include:

  • Act as liaison between the neighborhood and the Police Department
  • Get to know the neighbors in your community
  • Coordinate periodic meetings with the neighborhood watch group to discuss problems and assistance requirements
  • Report issues and concerns (e.g., suspicious persons, places or vehicles) to the Police Department

If you are interested in starting or joining a Neighborhood Watch in your area, email:

Officer Rebecca Anderson or Sergeant Sean Clarke

The Neighborhood Watch Program draws upon the compassion of average citizens, asking them to lend their neighbors a hand. It is important for your watch group to record those efforts and assist the Goodyear Police Department by registering your group.
