The Goodyear Youth Commission (GYC) consists of members from high schools, charter schools and home school students from across the city of Goodyear.

The GYC exists to provide a venue for students to develop leadership skills through involvement in city government and creates a format for students to advise the City Council and staff on a variety of youth-related issues, such as youth programming, recreation opportunities, and special events.

How To Apply

Applicants need to complete the Goodyear Youth Commission application online and submit two character references. Applications are open from April 1 - 30. All completed applications and references are due no later than May 1.

Requirements for Consideration:

Must attend a school in the city of Goodyear or be a Goodyear resident
High school students (Grades 9-12) are eligible to apply
Students may also apply during the summer between 8th and 9th grades.
Must have a willingness to learn and to participate in meetings
Qualified applicants will be contacted for an in-person interview
