The city of Goodyear commissioned the Community and Neighborhood Services Master Plan (CANS Plan) to guide future planning and investments in the provision of human services (“Human Services”), neighborhood conditions (“Neighborhoods”), and housing availability for a range of households and workforce members (“Housing”).
The Goodyear Community and Neighborhood Services Master Plan – Phase I Human Services Plan was developed in 2021 to serve as a foundation to guide the city’s role in providing funding for and developing and nurturing partnerships to address the needs of Goodyear’s most vulnerable residents and neighborhoods. The Plan offers recommendations and creates a framework for human services decision-making that will be built on over time to include neighborhoods and housing, including recommended investment in the physical environment to sustain human services.
The Goodyear Community and Neighborhood Services Master Plan - Phase II Neighborhoods Plan was developed in 2023 to establish a framework that will facilitate and encourage neighbors working together as a community toward common neighborhood objectives. The Neighborhoods Phase recognizes resident engagement as an essential component of a thriving community that provides opportunities for all residents to lead prosperous, self-determines lives. It further acknowledges that engages residents are a key component of successful human services delivery, bringing opportunities for connectedness that can help to mitigate individual and family crisis.
The goal of Phase III – Housing, is to guide future planning and investments in the provision of housing availability for a range of households and workforce members. This plan will de developed in FY2023-2024.
