Good Neighbor Day

Every year, September 28 marks National Good Neighbor Day. National Good Neighbor Day inspires people to become good neighbors and challenges them to make our communities stronger starting on their own street. Over the past few years, Goodyear Neighborhood Services has partnered with residents, businesses and our faith community to find unique ways of celebrating Good Neighbor Day.

Here are just some of the ways you can get involved:

Fill a Gift Bag and Bring it to Your Neighbor

Gift bagIf you're looking for a way to break the ice and get to know your neighbor, this tool is for you. Beginning Monday, August 26, stop by Goodyear City Hall, 1900 N Civic Sq. and pick up a Good Neighbor Day Gift Bag.

On Good Neighbor Day, Saturday, September 28, fill the gift bag with a small gift, (fresh baked goodies, a gift card, or a personal item that welcomes someone to the neighborhood) and bring it to the people living closest to you. Take the opportunity to get to know the people that live around you.

This is a fun way to strengthen our neighborhoods and help maintain the 'small town feel' here in Goodyear.
