You Are Not Alone (YANA) is a free program offered by the Goodyear Police Department's Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS). This program provides regular phone calls and home visits to seniors who have limited family or community contacts. Seniors can also call the YANA program for help finding specific services and resources.

YANA promotes peace of mind and a sense of security for our senior residents. It's a great resource for disabled seniors who enjoy the independence of living on their own, but don't have friends or family members nearby to check on them regularly.

yana2If an emergency occurs during a phone call or home visit, the VIPS/YANA representative will arrange for a police officer to be sent to the residence right away.

Seniors sign up to become a YANA participant by completing a registration form, including name, address, phone number, emergency contacts with phone numbers, medical information, number of pets on the premises, and vehicle information, and returning it to the Goodyear Police Department VIPS/YANA Program. Forms must be completed and include the original signature of the requesting participant. Incomplete forms or those without a valid original signature will not be accepted.

For assistance completing the registration form, contact YANA at 623-882-7539 or 623-696-8545.

If you are interested in volunteering as a YANA representative, please learn how to join the Goodyear Police Department's Volunteer Program HERE.
